Voices from Israel series featuring Tony Higton, produced by Howard Conder

Tony Higton was the leader of Christchurch in the heart of Jerusalem in 1999 when Howard interviewed him. (in fact, his full title was General Director of CMJ).

Christchurch Jerusalem was originally set up in 1809 as a society to promote Christianity amongst the Jews. The CMJ recognised that God had a purpose for the Jewish People and they understood that the Jews would eventually return to their God-given homeland, Israel.

This was quite an insight, as at the time, some 150 years previously there was no sign of the Jews returning to their land at all and that would be in preparation for the return of Jesus.

Also featured in this programme is Atlit, the internment camp that the British set up in 1939 to place the Jews who were escaping from Europe to come to Israel only to find they would be interned into camps like Atlit.

Anyway, a long story made short. Even though the filming took place around 1996/7, Howard did nothing with it for about four years.
