There are so many scriptures in both the old and the new testament about how we should treat those seeking refuge in our land.
Here are a few examples:
Hebrews chapter 13:verse 2
“Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so, some have shown hospitality to angels and without knowing it.”
there are other chapters and verses that are far more direct like Psalms chapter 146 verse 9 “The Lord watches over the sojourners (meaning those who are seeking refuge, migrants: “He upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked He brings to ruin.”
And this next one is very direct:
Ezekiel 47:22-23
“You shall allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the sojourners who reside among you and have had children among you.
They shall be to you as native-born children of Israel.
With you, they shall be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel.
In whatever tribe the sojourner resides, there you shall assign him his inheritance, declares the Lord God.”
I mention at the end of the video about the challenges that we face to care for those seeking refuge, however, I trust you will be blessed by God in order to cope with the challenges.
Thank you and bless you for considering these scriptures,
Howard Conder.
