Navigating the Turbulent Seas of Change: Reflections on a Shifting World and Hope for Tomorrow

I am sure that I am not alone and there are others on planet earth who would also say that the World has changed. Whether it be our mindset or the state of the world in general that we feel or observe major shifts in relationships and ideologies, not to mention being concerned about the future, if there is a future for Gen Z.
I have lived for seventy-eight years and experienced many changes in my lifetime, but I have never seen or felt like the changes that are with us today are scary. I believe these changes have come upon us since 2020. Many young people have mental health problems as they don’t see a future for them. Will they ever own their own homes? Will they have a successful career? Will they survive beyond the tipping point of Climate Change? Will the threat of World War 111 extinguish any hope they may have for peaceful life for themselves and their children?
A couple of phrases that Bob Dylan used in his songs come to mind, first one is “TIMES ARE A CHANGING” and the second one is YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO SERVE SOMEBODY.

Both lines are as relevant today as they were in the sixties when Bob Dylan first wrote them.

Dylan was brave to call it out when you see how the line concluded; YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO SERVE SOMEBODY. WELL, IT MIGHT BE THE DEVIL OR IT MAY BE THE LORD. BUT YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO SERVE SOMEBODY.

Considering other major problems society is now having to deal with such as an increase in crime. Knife and gun crime is increasing at an alarming rate. It seems like there is no deterrent fitting enough to deter criminal activities of all kinds, besides our prisons are full and the authorities are thinking of letting certain prisoners who have committed lessor crimes go free.

With the polarisation of both political and religious beliefs being as divisive as they are, reminds me of what Jesus Christ said, “Because of the increase in lawlessness, most people’s love will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12)

Meaning, because of the increase in crime, people’s trust in others will diminish to the point they won’t know the true motives of others in their communities; therefore, they will simply withdraw and keep themselves to themselves and that would be so sad.

So let me say again as I have done for decades, our only hope is in God’s promises which include a New Heaven and a New Earth where there will be no more wars, no more crime, no more killing, no more pain, no more sickness, no more crying and even death will be done away with. Revelation chapter 21. And Psalm 37 says: Just a little while longer and the wicked will be no more, and the meek will inherit the earth.

And to reassure our animal lovers, remember the promise that “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together;
and a little child shall lead them. Isaiah 11:6

Surely this is Paradise Restored, therefore lift up your head as your deliverance draws near. Maranatha.

Love and blessings,

Howard

In 1997 a dear couple who were watching Howard’s programmes on Identity Television, a subsidiary of BET (Black Entertainment Television) insisted Howard put his testimony onto videotape. Anyway, a long story made short. Even though the filming took place around 1996/7, Howard did nothing with it for about four years.
