Howard said that there is nothing in the Lord’s teachings that gives even the slightest hint that He had any political involvement. In fact, Jesus refused to be involved in or lead any political movement. Also quoted “Jesus said, ‘My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my servants would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from here” (John 18:36).
Howard used Tim Farron as an example of how a Christian in Politics would not be successful in today’s Parliament citing why Tim Farron stepped down as the Leader of the liberal party.
Tim Farron also stated that he was “torn between living as a faithful Christian and serving as a political leader” and “remaining faithful to Christ’ was incompatible with being party leader after repeated questions over his faith”, and that he never recovered from questions over his beliefs and attitude to gay sex and abortion.

Yes I believe that Jesus was politically neutral, he did not meddle in the divided politics of his day and when the crowds came wanting to make him King, he refused and slipped away. (John 6:15)
John 6:15 “Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.”
The crowd recognised Jesus as the Messiah but wrongly equated His Messiahship with the setting up of an earthly kingdom at that present time
I think this scripture speaks clearly about how God feels about the various Governments or ruling powers of this world:
Daniel Chapter 2: 44 “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”
They were fervent political activists who attempted to be king-makers for Israel. They wanted to use Him for their own ends.
They were in the business of sedition and rebellion against Rome.
Note that Jesus never got involved in speaking against or coming against Rome.
Why did Tim Farron step down from Leader of the liberal party?
Tim Farron stated he would step down as party leader following the election, stating that he had become “torn between living as a faithful Christian and serving as a political leader”.

Tim Farron said he had become the ‘subject of suspicion because of his Christian faith.

Have we or I made disciples of all the nations and taught them to observe all the Lord’s commands yet? Or do you think that it’s more important to first try and get involved in the political arena where you will be shut down in an instant once you share biblical truths… just as Tim Farron was?
We can no longer mention the bible’s views on same-sex relationships… we are liable to be found guilty of HATE SPEECH.
we are no longer allowed to demonstrate near an abortion clinic.
All too often are street preachers stopped by Police.
So many Christians lose their employment because of their beliefs.
The death penalty has been abolished. Has to be two witnesses.
