Howard Conder was born in 1946 in a hospital in Kendal in the Lake District, a most beautiful part of England.
When Howard moved to Darlington County Durham around the age of six, he started school at Reid Street infants and then moved to the Arthur Pease infant School and his final school years were spent at Gladstone Street School.
Howard had begun having drum lessons when he was twelve years old from his cousin Maxi Temple and by the time he left school he was already playing semi pro gigs with local pop bands in the Darlington area.
A 16 year old agreed by contract to play the drums for the defendant band for 7 nights per week for 5 years. The claimant suffered a mental breakdown and was told by his doctor that he should not perform more than 4 nights per week. The band dismissed him. He brought a claim for wrongful dismissal.
